A winter public installation examining the relationship between city spaces and emotional communication by inviting people to answer a simple question - What are you waiting for? The installation consisted of six pine trees selected from the NOMA tree nursery arranged in a circle to create a city centre glade of light and sound.

An outdoor dance studio on an empty shop front to help to animate a space. This space is outside one of London’s most popular dance studios and we liked the idea of animating the space with the dancers queuing outside waiting for their lessons or auditions.

The success of our current economic model relies on infinite growth and consumption in a finite world. This system is confusing, worrying and, above all, boring. Stock exchange was an exploration of a more simple, enjoyable economic model - the barter system. Bring a thing. Swap a thing. Be nice.

This is a project devised by Joe for sale in The Hepworth. A really simple evolution of a pulled handle and rolled Savoy Cabbage leaf. The idea is that this easy process could be taught easily by anybody. We had a cohort of Dutch mayors make these with us.

Small food growing project with MUD. We built raised beds and gardened them with Manchester Urban Diggers at NOMA. This is the first time we used gardening as a way to promote participation in place.

Maker Day in Harpurhey

We are definitely not a fit out company. But we did do this. Work completed by us and Designmake install with you and I and shades by Cronshaw. We bullied the brewery staff into making stools with us to ensure that this project fitted into our ethos.

This was a 12 month occupation of a beautiful 1930s modernist building at NOMA. We ran this project as what we called an 'open design studio' encouraging people to find ways to make their own city.
